My readers, my friends,
In Chapter 10: The Perilous Journey, we discuss Understanding Your Adversity. I open the curtains to reveal the deep, intimate emotions that gripped me seven years ago, when a severe affliction nearly derailed me from reaching my Promised Land. The growth was causing progressive blindness and required an intense surgical procedure to remove. This chapter is crafted from the depths of my personal experiences during that time, offering you a genuine encounter with trials, rather than a mere anecdotal recount.
The very next day after penning this chapter, an apparent recurrence came on, yet this time the emergence was more swift and more intense. Despite my fears, I am bolstered by a steadfast faith, understanding both the strategies of the adversary and the supreme authority of God’s will. My continued work on this book and the very act of writing this post serve as tangible expressions of my faith. I humbly request your prayers as I continue this journey.
Is This and Opportune Time?
Luke 4:13
you can attack my eyesight, but you’ll never take my Vision
Imagine you're on a divine mission. You have a clear purpose that aligns with God's nature. But just as you're walking out this mission, here comes the enemy, trying to throw you off track. In Luke 4, Jesus faced temptations from the devil after His time of fasting in the wilderness. The devil threw everything at Him, yet Jesus stood firm.
But notice what the scripture says at the end of the ordeal: the devil left Him "until an opportune time." This tells us something crucial about our own journey. The enemy is persistent. He doesn't give up easily. He may leave for a season, but he's always looking for another opportunity to distract and derail us.
This is much like a persistent affliction or repeated distraction we face in our lives. You overcome it once, and it feels like a victory. You think it's done, but then it resurfaces, often when you're vulnerable or at a critical point in your mission. This is strategic on the enemy's part—he's looking for those opportune times.
Trust in God's timing and provision. Sometimes these repeated afflictions teach us patience and dependence on God. They remind us that we can't do it alone; we need His strength and guidance.
Although the enemy may come back at "an opportune time," we serve a God who is always present, always powerful, and always ready to help us stay on course.
Lord God, as I walk-out the work You’ve called me to, be my rod and my staff to help me not stumble. It is a great work we do. Enable me to stay on course.
